Discuss an architect retainerWhat a month includes
AI Solution Architect is a monthly retainer for senior AI architecture: a fractional AI architect who knows your estate, works with your team and answers to you.
Architecture guidance
Regular time with your team on the decisions in front of you: hosting, models, data, security and cost.
Design review
Review of designs and changes by your own engineers and your suppliers, with written findings.
Supplier oversight
Independent questions and checks on the AI suppliers you use or are about to buy from.
How much time each month is agreed at the start, and it can change as your programme does.
Scope, decisions and what you receive
In scope
- Architecture guidance on the decisions in front of your team.
- Design review of work by your own engineers and your suppliers.
- Supplier oversight: the questions, the evidence and our assessment of the answers.
- Attendance at your architecture or change boards where agreed.
Decisions required
What your organisation decides, with our advice:
- How much time each month, and how it is booked.
- Which programmes, designs and suppliers are in scope.
- What we may read, with read only access by default.
- Who receives findings.
Delivered
- Written review findings, ranked and specific.
- Records of architecture decisions, with the options considered.
- Supplier question sets and our assessment of the answers.
- A current list of risks and open decisions, kept month by month.
Not included: formal sign off. Approval stays with your organisation; we give you what you need to decide.
Scope and fee are agreed in writing before any work starts.
Design review for your team and suppliers
A design review asks whether a proposal keeps your data where it should be, can be operated by the people who will own it, and will pass your security review. Each review checks the design against your data boundary, your identity and network controls, the standards you report against, and the cost of running it. How findings are recorded is agreed in the scope; written, ranked and specific findings let the team or supplier see what to change.
Independent supplier oversight
AI suppliers are often the hardest part of an AI programme to assure. We ask the questions your security and procurement colleagues need answered:
- Where are prompts, documents and outputs processed and stored, and for how long?
- Are they used to train or improve any model?
- Which subprocessors are involved, and in which countries?
- Who at the supplier can access your data, and how is that logged?
- How do you leave, and what happens to your data when you do?
When to use it
- After a private AI platform build, to keep senior oversight as the platform grows.
- When you are buying an AI product and need someone to test the supplier's claims.
- When your own engineers are building and want an experienced reviewer.
- When the board wants an independent view of the AI programme.
- When an enterprise customer or investor is about to review how your AI is built.
If you are not sure yet what you need, start with a readiness assessment.
